The Client
The Problem Statement
The multinational company wanted to reimagine how its workplace communicated with its large and diverse workforce and visiting clients. The company identified high-traffic areas across its newly renovated Mumbai headquarters and its London CEO office, a key client-facing location, for this exercise. Wall branding was a focal point of the redesign. The spaces needed to:
– Create a strong first impression for visiting clients
– Build a sense of belonging among employees
– Bring leadership presence into the space without overpowering it
The client needed to translate their vision and values into contextual, space-led communication.
What We Did: The Scope
The client partnered with Purple Iris Communications to conceptualize and create branding options across locations.
Our efforts were aimed at:
- Translating the organization’s values, culture, and capabilities into messaging that strengthens how employees and clients experience the organization
- Creating narratives for different areas of the workplace while keeping the overall story cohesive
- Writing sharp copy that communicates instantly
- Maintaining consistency in tone while adapting it to suit how each space is used
How We Did it: The Approach
– Spent time understanding how the space would be used by senior leadership, employees, and visiting clients, where communication needed to be subtle yet impactful
–Mapped the layout to identify how people engage with the space, ensuring messaging aligned with natural lines of sight
– Used each wall to carry a distinct narrative, such as the company’s journey, values, sustainability, and community
– Extended the existing CSR slogan focused on empowering through education and integrated diversity and inclusivity into the narrative in a way that felt native to the space
– Created content for a digital display on workplace and diversity awards, ensuring achievements were visible but did not dominate the space
– Studied the movement of clients and internal teams along the corridor leading to meeting rooms to identify natural points of attention
– Built messaging around key capabilities for a corridor used by clients and other teams on route to meetings with the team
– Designed copy to be short and direct so it could be read while walking
– Reinforced key messages to existing clients and created strong first impressions for new clients
– Collaborated with internal stakeholders to understand how employees used the café space between meetings, where the mindset is to switch off rather than engage with structured messaging
– Developed short, contextual messaging around the company’s new tagline, adapted specifically for a break-time setting
–Kept the tone light and conversational so the messaging blended into the environment rather than feeling like workplace communication
– Designed wall content to reflect employee initiatives and rewards and recognition programs, placing them along key waiting and interaction zones
– Incorporated short client testimonials into the space to highlight the organization’s real-world impact in a subtle, non-promotional way
– Highlighted the company’s core philosophy and learning programs to give candidates a more grounded view of the workplace
– Added QR codes to allow candidates to explore further independently
– Used motivational lines instead of promotional messaging, ensuring the space felt authentic rather than curated
